The seventh edition of the Battle for Grolle will take place in 2019 on October 18, 19 and 20. This has been announced by the organization.
It is well known that the Battle for Grolle is the world biggest 17th century reenactment event. During the previous edition there was great interest from the press. Not only was the event covered on the frontpage of the biggest daily newspaper in the Netherlands (“De Telegraaf”), but was also an item during prime-time-news broadcast on Dutch national TV (“NOS 8 uur journal”) as well as on various other commercial- and regional TV stations.
The organisation team of the Battle for Grolle is looking back at a very successful sixth edition of the event. This year, approximately 30.000 spectators visited Groenlo, to share the experience of the recapture from the Spaniards by Prince Frederik Hendrik. A large number of these visitors came from across the German border.

Letters to the participants of the Battle for Grolle can be written in advance at home, but can also be written in the camp. Located in the tent of Cooper’s Choice (Kerkwal, near the basilica) is a letterbox where you can post your mail. Make sure that your letter or card bears the name of the recipient and the name of the regiment.
