Once again, the 8th edition of the Battle of Grolle was hugely successful. The three-day event counted a record number of visitors: 40,000 people visited the fortified town of Groenlo for one or more days during the event.

More than 1,100 domestic and international re-enactors participated in the battle that marked the end of the 1627 siege of the town. On the battlefield, gunners, musketeers, and pikemen once again fiercely engaged in battle. Visitors were also able to fully immerse themselves in the daily life of 1627 thanks to the countless civilian groups, traders, craftsmen, and musicians in the town center. This was followed by a torchlight procession on both Friday and Saturday evening. This year marked the first minute-of-silence observed throughout the entire town on Sunday to commemorate all war victims throughout the centuries.

The Battle of Grolle would like to thank everyone for attending. The organizers look back on a successful event and can already slowly begin preparations for the next edition in 2024.
